Anti-arthritic Effects of Glucosamine Sulfate Studied in Animal Models

Article Summary:
Rats with inflammation of the joints and arthritis were administered oral doses of glucosamine sulfate daily. Glucosamine sulfate was compared to indometacin, which is known to be toxic at certain levels. Glucosamine sulfate was found to be effective at reducing the inflammation in the joints of the rats. The glucosamine sulfate is considered to be a much safer form of treatment for arthritis.
